Published Articles
Pscab GH Assay – Development of a Greenhouse Assay to Evaluate Potato Germplasm for Susceptibility to Powdery Scab.

In this paper, different greenhouse settings were evaluated for developing an assay for screening potato germplasm for powdery scab susceptibility. This assay is a reasonable substitute to using a field environment (which can be highly variable).

PVY Article – Controlling PVY in Seed: What Works and What Does Not.

In this paper, different management strategies for managing Potato Virus Y are discussed. Some of these include field roguing, altering planting date to avoid aphid pressure, insecticide use, cultivar resistance, etc.

Compost Tea Article – Effect of nitrogen rate and fungicide or compost tea application on tuber yield and quality of potato cultivars

In this paper, compost tea was applied to field grown potato plants and was evaluated for tuber yield and quality. When compared with conventional management practices (including in-season nitrogen and fungicide application), the use of compost tea resulted in similar or better yield and grade.

Potato Pathology Links – This website is an excellent resource for identifying different potato cultivars infected with PVY (+ strains).

In this paper, compost tea was applied to field grown potato plants and was evaluated for tuber yield and quality. When compared with conventional management practices (including in-season nitrogen and fungicide application), the use of compost tea resulted in similar or better yield and grade.
